Pre-Conference on MLP Statewide Coalitions and MLP Conference Track at Putting Care at the Center | Conference

The National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership is partnering with the Camden Coalition to bring medical-legal partnership (MLP) content to the national 2026 Putting Care at the Center conference in Oakland, California. The meeting will feature a dedicated MLP track as well as an MLP-focused pre-conference session hosted by the National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership. Putting Care at the Center is a great opportunity for MLP practitioners to exchange program, research, and policy knowledge, both with each other and with a diverse group of practitioners, researchers, consumers, payers, and community providers working to improve whole-person care.

Organizing for Impact: Building Statewide MLP Coalitions for Coordination, Policy, and Scale
Oakland Marriott City Center
Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 1 - 5 p.m. Pacific Time

As the MLP field matures, practitioners are increasingly forming state level coalitions to coordinate partners, build shared infrastructure, and promote policy and sustainable investment. In this interactive session, the National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership will; (1) highlight emerging coalition models, (2) explain core functions like governance, shared learning, communications, and advocacy, and (3) provide practical tools that fit with national MLP initiatives. Participants will identify stakeholders, outline a coalition value proposition, and create a 90-day start-up plan with measurable goals. This session is for MLP teams that are already coordinating statewide efforts and those considering whether a coalition could boost growth.
