Purpose
The Coalition is comprised of legal and medical professionals who either have a medical-legal partnership or who are interested in starting one. The purpose of the Coalition is to:
- Share information, resources and best practices
- Support relevant legislation
- Reach out to legal and medical organizations to advance the growth of medical-legal partnerships
- Support new partnerships
Proposed Legislation
The NY State Coalition of Medical-Legal Partnerships is working on legislation to amend the NY state public health law to include medical-legal partnership. Click here to read the draft legislation. This is proposed language; it has not yet been introduced.
Listserve
The Coalition has created a listserve and will be organizing a statewide conference in 2009.
Do Not Use Landing Page Format
Our community counts on us as a safety net hospital, whether or not they are disadvantaged patients, we have a very strong standing in the community. I think its things like this, innovations like this, that demonstrate to the community that we are here for you and that we are thinking about how to improve. We aren’t willing to stay with the status quo. I think it improves our standing.
