American Academy of Pediatrics


Founded in 1930, the American Academy of Pediatrics is an organization of 60,000 pediatricians committed to the attainment of optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.


AAP Resolution

In December 2007, the American Academy of Pediatrics passed a resolution in support of medical-legal partnership:

RESOLVED, that the Academy encourage closer and more frequent collaboration between legal service and medical professionals, and be it further

RESOLVED, that the Academy promote “medical-legal partnerships,” in which lawyers work with members to identify and resolve legal issues affecting the health and well-being of children.
