Edward Paul, MD
Director of Graduate Medical Education, Yuma Regional Medical Center
Dr. Edward Paul is currently the Director of Graduate Medical Education at Yuma Regional Medical Center. He was previously the Director of the Family & Community Medicine Residency Program at The University of Arizona in Tucson. Now, in his twenty fifth year of practice in the specialty of Family Medicine, he continues to consider it a privilege to be able to teach and to take care of people each day in the office and in the hospital setting. He has been in residency education for most of his career, having taught residents and medical students in both rural and urban settings. Dr. Paul has been active in working with AHEC programs in Pennsylvania and Arizona to improve healthcare and the healthcare workforce in rural communities in our state. He has recently become involved with and enthused about The Tucson Family Advocacy Program, a five year old medical-legal partnership within his family medicine residency program at The University of Arizona. Dr. Paul has successfully integrated medical-legal education into the residency curriculum which he views as a necessary component of education for future family physicians.
In my 35 years of practicing pediatrics in Boston, the lawyers have been the missing link to really improve the health and well-being of the children.
